HEVO Inc has been a pioneer in Electric Vehicle Wireless Charging technology and developing Wireless EV charging solutions to simplify the process of EV charging. HEVO is scaling the production of its Level 2 Rezonant wireless chargers, preparing to launch its mobile app, and building enterprise software solutions to meet customer needs.

HEVO is seeking a senior software QA engineer to lead the system verification and testing of our Rezonant wireless chargers, Journey enterprise software, and mobile applications. This engineer will report to the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering on a day-to-day basis and have regular engagement with the company's engineering, product, commercial teams, partners, and customers. This role represents an opportunity to qualify innovative software products for EV charging at HEVO Inc.

The candidate will have an outstanding track record in partnering with product and engineering teams to understand the requirements and in coming up with system verification and test plans and execute to that plan.

Role

  1. Software quality lead for HEVO’s Rezonant wireless charging, Journey enterprise software, and mobile applications
  2. Engage with product and engineering teams to develop a system verification and test plan
  3. Align with engineering and product on a release plan
  4. Establish best-in-class software processes for automated testing
  5. Define quality metrics for software and evaluate periodically
  6. Maintain high quality of integration of HEVO’s charging hardware and third-party charging hardware with the cloud

Responsibilities

  1. Test and qualify HEVO’s wireless EV charging software
  2. Leverage AWS IoT services to manage device provisioning, device certificates, and telemetry
  3. Integration testing of charging hardware with the cloud using OCPP
  4. Integration testing of third-party roaming charging using OCPI protocol
  5. Establish automation test frameworks for embedded, cloud, and mobile application areas.
  6. Validate web portal features for device life cycle management, monitor and control devices, support for OTA firmware update, etc.
  7. Partner with product and engineering to drive agile development process and ticket management through JIRA
  8. Help develop materials and documentation for installers and customers
  9. Collaborate with DevOps team and manage product releases and hot fixes
  10. Implement analytics for evaluating software usage and customer pain points

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a software QA engineer
  2. BA/BS degree in engineering (SW/HW preferred)
  3. Mobile application testing and automation (iOS, Android)
  4. Good understanding of IoT device monitoring and management
  5. Experience working on AWS cloud services including AWS IoT preferred
  6. Experience in EV charging as a user required
  7. Basic understanding of EV charging protocols required
  8. Knowledge of OCPP and OCPI protocols preferred
  9. Ability to work with different team members and be a true self-learner
  10. Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills
  11. Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment
