This position is full-time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday, with an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in-office attendance on other days). Overview:
Canon Software America, Inc. in Melville, NY is seeking an IT Systems Architect (Architect, Systems CSA). The IT Systems Architect will define technical standards and design specifications for a specialized technical area. This individual will work with both the U.S. and Japanese teams to summarize requirements and develop systems, providing creative and effective solutions to problems and assisting in the development of policies and procedures. A thorough knowledge of the functional area is required, and the individual should work independently and interact with peer-level employees across Canon. They may provide input into establishing annual objectives for the function.
Responsibilities:
- Become a member of the Operation team for a Canon USA ERP system called S21.
- Execute tasks related to management, system monitoring, inquiry correspondence, system operation, environment management, defect correspondence, enhancement, and configuration management.
- In the event of a failure, analyze the impact of the system, take prompt provisional response, and consider the necessity of a permanent response.
- Interact with users for enhancements, prepare specifications, and give instructions to the development team.
- Work in cooperation with the Japanese offshore team who is in charge of night operations on weekdays.
- Responsible for the operational design, implementation, configuration, management, and use of information systems that will adequately support the enterprise infrastructure of the organization.
- Analyze system requirements and evaluate the needs of one or more functional areas within the ERP system to coordinate, implement, and communicate business needs into technical requirements.
- Define system architecture including server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements, and networking protocols.
- Ensure that architecture project roll-outs meet security standards and are effectively integrated with current applications.
- Work on complex technical and business matters.
- Educate others in the workflow, business processes, and reporting metrics enabled by ERP modules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 7 years of related experience.
- Sales management experience.
- Financial/Accounting experience is a plus.
- Thorough hands-on experience with Oracle 11g / 12g / 19c databases, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Linux and Shell scripting knowledge.
- Experience with Autosys Job Schedulers.
- Hands-on experience with Java, JSP, J2EE.
- Knowledge of the IBM Integration Bus is a plus.
- Operation/Implementation of Sales Management System.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Japanese are required.
