The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of multiple divisions. The Population Health Division (PHD) provides core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco: health protection, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, and disaster preparedness and response.
The 2589 Health Program Coordinator I is the entry level class of the series engaged in planning and evaluating a community health program, and may work under the supervision of a health team leader. This role supervises, coordinates and instructs in any phase of the community services of a public health or community mental health program, such as program planning, evaluation, community relations, etc.
The 2589 Health Program Coordinator I may perform other duties as assigned/required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.AND
Experience: One (1) year of professional level administrative or management experience with primary responsibility for overseeing, monitoring, and/or coordinating a program providing health and/or human services.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience as indicated above beyond the required may substitutefor the educational requirement on a year for year basis. Thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
Note: Clerical, recordkeeping, scheduling, case management, class instruction/training, health education and direct client service experience is not qualifying experience.

Candidates must achieve a passing score on the written examination in order to continue in the selection process and will be placed on the confidential eligible list in rank order according to their final score.
