Calf Unit Farm Manager - North Wales/Cheshire

The Calf Unit Farm Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a professional, large scale calf unit located in North Wales near the Cheshire border. You will lead a dedicated team to oversee the health, welfare and growth of calves from birth to weaning.

Holding a strong work ethic and hands-on approach, you will drive best practice in the team ensuring the highest standards and protocols are maintained throughout the unit. If you have experience of rearing livestock to exceptionally high standards, possess strong leadership abilities, and have the passion to contribute to a highly successful and growing business, please get in touch.

Role Responsibilities

1. To manage the unit ensuring husbandry practices and feeding protocols are maintained to optimise calf performance
2. To develop and implement calf health management programmes
3. To develop and implement protocols and procedures that maintain effective biosecurity measures across the unit
4. To supervise, train and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and high performing environment
5. To ensure accurate records are maintained, analysing data and responding quickly to variances or anomalies
6. To manage financial reporting of the unit, ensuring a cost-effective operation
