The college had 3,203 graduates in 2019-2020, 40 percent of whom pursued degrees that would let them transfer to 4-year institutions. TCC’s institutional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.The Academic Records Specialist performs complex, responsible work in administering academic records processes. The duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to processing records for incoming students, updating student records, degree audits, entering necessary course substitutions, and waivers and the updating college transfer evaluation systems. In addition, the Academic Records Specialist ill perform clerical and administrative duties of answering phones, emails, etc. Furthermore, this position understands and provides guidance for Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA) to the students, faculty, and staff.Key Responsibilities:• Maintain knowledge of compliance regulations, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).• Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and responding to emails.• Oversee and maintain student academic records.• Address inquiries from students, faculty, and staff regarding academic records.• Process academic records for both incoming and current students.• Track and manage deadlines for submission of records.• Generate reports and conduct data analysis as needed.• Perform degree audits and process course substitutions and waivers.• Support graduation and commencement activities.Minimum Qualifications:• Experience in clerical or administrative roles within a higher education setting.• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.• Proficiency in using Student Information Systems (SIS) such as PeopleSoft.• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace for data entry, reporting, and documentation.• Experience with document imaging systems.• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.• Strong verbal and written communication, prioritization, interpersonal, and customer service skills.Preferred Qualifications:• Community College experience• Experience in a College Registrar’s office
