We’d like you to help us continue changing the industry!Business Development ExecutiveWe are hiring a Business Development Executive to lead national food service expansion for Smith Teamaker. Leveraging our brand and distribution network to drive growth from key, multi-unit accounts with national scope, largely in the premium food service, hospitality, QSR, and OCS space.As an entrepreneurial business builder, you will naturally target high volume customers, build relationships that turn into profitable relationships, and apply fact-based performance analytics to attract further growth. The Business Development Executive is responsible for delivering target revenue goals, building customer relationships, coordinating customer needs cross functionally, while growing and managing new business.Smith Teamaker is the leader in the premium tea space and the fastest growing brand in the category. A consultative service mindset and flexibility are valued. The ideal candidate is astute in all aspects of the selling journey and must be adept at creating new unique opportunities to position Smith as the premium beverage solution for hotels, restaurants, and distributors. You’re passionate about fine food and beverage, excel at influencing others and are analytical, organized, and detail oriented.This full-time position reports to the VP of Sales and requires travel as needed.At Smith, our culture is rooted in Head, Heart, and Hustle, and your objective is to live, teach, and demonstrate our culture in all interactions.Responsibilities• Research and target high leverage accounts within the premium QSR, Hotel, Restaurant, Café, and Office hospitality space.• Develop a strategic and operational sales plan to deliver budgeted sales and gross margin targets.• Act as consultant to premium food service operators to leverage the Smith portfolio and distribution network to build impactful relationships.• Collaborate with the customer success and marketing teams to expand the key account portfolio, with an objective of delivering growth targets.• Communicate customer needs and market trends to key Smith Teamaker stakeholders.• Ongoing analysis, optimization and reporting of business performance, with a focus on conversion funnel, margin, and discount management.• Strengthen the brand through representation at trade shows and partnership events.Qualifications• 5+ years business development, with hands-on experience across all aspects of the selling cycle, within consumer, food service, or wholesale distribution.• Highly developed negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with a wide range of influence skills.• Expert understanding of the food service industry with an emphasis on national accounts.• Deep understanding of wholesale distribution with emphasis on broadline distribution• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate PowerPoint and Excel skills; ERP, CRM.• Ability to wear multiple hats and multi-task with relentless attention to detail.• Must demonstrate strong ownership and ability to take initiatives in problem solving.• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with growth mindset, manage multiple situations concurrently, and work independently.• Professional demeanor in working with colleagues, distributors, brokers, retail reps, and consumers.• Act with integrity, honesty, and the passion that promotes Smith Teamaker culture, core values, and overall mission.Benefits• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and performance; paid incentives based on achieving targeted goals.• Fully paid medical, alternative care, vision and dental insurance; LTD, Life and AD&D coverage; FSA; EAP.• 401(k) match, paid holidays, PTO, paid parental leave, employee discount.• Excellent tea selection.Location: Remote or Portland, OregonSend a cover letter and resume to share your story.Smith Teamaker provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
