The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) invites applications and nominations for a faculty position opening at the assistant professor level. We seek a tenure-track assistant professor. Michigan Tech BME is searching for outstanding candidates who can add to the existing research and teaching strengths in multiple research areas.
Applicants who can teach courses in our undergraduate and graduate curricula and expand the Department’s already strong industrial ties are desired. An earned doctorate in an engineering discipline or closely related field and a research focus on human health is required. Post-doctoral or industry experience is essential. We desire applications from individuals with strong engineering and mathematical skills who can form productive external collaborations with the medical device industry as well as with other educational and research units of the Michigan Tech College of Engineering. The Department is particularly strong in cardiovascular engineering, biomaterials, tissue engineering, biomechanics, biomedical sensors and instrumentation, and biomedical imaging. We also encourage applicants with a research focus in biotech/biomanufacturing, synthetic biology, prosthetics/orthopedics, medical device/catheter design, robotics, and computing/programming/mobile computing.
