Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill in north-west London and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 835 boys study at Harrow and live in the School’s 13 boarding houses.
The role: An opportunity has arisen for an electrician to join our Estates team. The postholder will work independently and as part of a team to undertake the full range of electrical duties including rewiring, installation, remedial, fault finding and maintenance work on a building stock comprising of 13 Boarding houses, academic buildings, school buildings and residential buildings. He/she will be qualified in City and Guilds 236 part 2 (or NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work or approved equivalent). The role requires the electrician to accurately interpret technical data, drawings and instructions. The skills: This role will suit someone who prides themselves on their initiative and problem-solving skills to provide an excellent service, who enjoys working in a friendly team with a strong sense of camaraderie, the challenge of a diverse range of installations and the opportunity to work in a variety of interesting and historic buildings. The position is a full-time role and the successful candidate will be required to be included in the out of hours on call rota which is remunerated in addition to the annual salary.
