Hospital Porters play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the hospital. They are responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients, equipment, and supplies within the hospital premises. *Key Responsibilities:*
1. *Patient Transport:*
- Safely transport patients to and from wards, operating theaters, and other areas within the hospital.
- Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, beds, and trolleys.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during transport.
2. *Equipment and Supplies:*
- Move medical equipment, beds, and furniture as required.
- Deliver supplies, medical records, and specimens to various departments.
- Ensure the proper handling and operation of equipment.
3. *Support Services:*
- Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for special events or procedures.
- Respond to emergency calls promptly and efficiently.
- Provide support during emergency evacuations.
4. *Sanitation and Maintenance:*
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in patient transport areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or potential hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist in waste management and disposal following hospital protocols.
5. *Communication and Teamwork:*
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other departments.
- Provide information and directions to patients and visitors when needed.
*Qualifications:*
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not required.
