Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Geology/Mining or Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Union Bridge, MD for the summer of 2025. As a Geology/Mining or Civil Engineering Intern you will immerse yourself in plant processes. This position will have the opportunity to tackle new challenges and projects and gain real-world working experience. You will have lots to talk about when you return to school in the fall!

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
• Put your education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work.
• Support the plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments.
• Complete summer projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a quarry and the industry, as well as drive efficiency
• Learn the mission of the production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job and functions.
• Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Current juniors and seniors working toward a degree in Mining or Civil Engineering, or Geology
• Commitment and engagement through a high level of work ethic and utilization of abilities for the best of the company
• Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
