Position Overview

The Support II - Cybersecurity Operations works under the general direction of the Manager of Cybersecurity Operations to perform duties in the areas of cybersecurity monitoring, and threat defense. This position will provide input on enterprise security assessments and is responsible for the regular operational monitoring of the environment (i.e., Endpoint Detection and Response management, email content filtering, and Security Information and Event Management monitoring). The Support II - Cybersecurity Operations will participate in the security review and risk assessment processes for new initiatives, projects, technologies, and safeguards to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and security best practices. They will assist with coordinating security incident response activities with a focus on detail, confidentiality, and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities
• Continuously monitor security alerts, logs, and events from various security tools, including EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint security solutions.
• Identify and investigate security incidents, anomalies, and potential threats. Analyze patterns and trends to proactively detect security risks.
• Execute incident response procedures to contain, mitigate, and remediate security incidents. Collaborate with incident response teams and stakeholders to ensure effective resolution.
• Conduct in-depth forensic analysis of security events and incidents to understand the nature of threats and vulnerabilities. Stay updated on the latest threat intelligence to enhance incident detection and response.
• Maintain incident logs, reports, and documentation related to security incidents and response activities. Ensure that records are accurate and up to date.
• Monitor and optimize security tools and technologies to improve incident detection and response capabilities. Recommend and implement improvements to security infrastructure.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness among employees by providing guidance on security best practices and incident reporting procedures.
• Complies will all policies and standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of Cybersecurity experience
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies, including SIEM systems, Endpoint detection and response, Content filtering, Vulnerability scanning, and Network protection tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of Azure Sentinel
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR
• Knowledge of other Microsoft Security Technologies
• Familiarity with SOAR capabilities
• CompTIA Security +, and Network + certifications strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Python, PowerShell, and APIs, or willingness to attain significant proficiency with these capabilities.
• Demonstrates proficiency working with prompting Large Language Models (LLM)
• Physical demands include sitting for extended periods, standing and walking, bending or stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 occasionally.
