Job Summary:
A Hardware Designer requires advanced formal engineering education, superior problem solving skills and independent decision-making ability. Responsibilities include designing and implementing electronic hardware systems in a team setting. Systems typically require the design and development of both analog and digital circuits. This position reports to Hardware Engineering Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform circuit analysis and traceability from user’s requirements to formal design and implementation.
· Support and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of electronic components, systems and equipment.
· Debug and troubleshoot hardware circuits.
· Determine FMEA at Board and Component levels.
· Integrate hardware into embedded system environment, including test bench and on aircraft at customer sites.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience.
· Minimum 2 years experience with embedded control systems.
· Proficient on Microsoft Office Tools advanced features (Word, Project, Access and Excel).
· Prior working experience within a team setting.
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Exceptional organization skills and able to meet tight deadline.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Balance needs of the business and customer in order to satisfy customer requirements and ensure the best interests of the business are met.
· Ability to correctly interpret customer’s input and translate that information into something which fulfils the customer’s end requirements.
· Analyze and specify hardware development environment (HDE), verification environment, debugging and profiling tools.
· Manage and develop verification data packages per DO-254 certification standard.
· Create software architecture and design structured software by formal and/or model-based methodologies.
· Design electronics, FPGA and mechanical components to meet all requirements.
· Design electronic system products that meet EMC/EMI requirements and performance.
· Competence in preparing bidding packages for electronic systems.
· Ability to meet users needs through the accurate interpretation of their requirements to creation of end product.
· Able to analyze and interpret electronic data to discern any issues/problems.
· Perform reliability studies and analysis to reliability requirements.
· Perform hardware and software integration.
· Facilitate and guide inter-departmental cooperation.
· Manage report data and effectively translate information into a medium that is easily processed.
· Assume a lead position to review and to make technical and project decisions.
· Mentoring, training and performance management – personnel improvement.
· Presentation of materials in such a manner that is readily understood by customer
