Job Description:

Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health
Sciences, Division of Graduate Nursing, located at the newly
renovated, state-of-the art health sciences campus in Johnson City,
New York, is hiring for its Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
program (BS-DNP and advanced standing DNP programs). We invite
applicants for full-time, campus-based, 10 or 12-month faculty
appointments. The open rank clinical position encompasses teaching,
innovation, and clinically driven scholarship.

Responsibilities include: The position requires graduate level
teaching, as well as other academic responsibilities. These
activities include didactic, online, and clinical teaching, lecture
development and delivery, course development, revision and
evaluation, participation in clinical simulation activities,
academic advising and mentoring of students, direct and indirect
supervision of student clinical experiences, and conducting site
visits to monitor student progression. Service within the school,
college, and university will include faculty meetings, committee
membership and related responsibilities, professional activities,
and other duties as assigned. During the Fall and Spring semesters,
one day a week release time is provided to maintain advance
clinical practice with the expectation that the candidate will
practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in a
healthcare organization of their choice, preferably in a setting
commensurate with the specialization and serve as clinical
preceptor for APRN students as needed.

The candidate will be assigned courses based on area of expertise,
contribute to advising and mentoring students, and engage in
program, school, college, and university committees, as
appropriate.

Faculty rank and salary are dependent upon the successful
candidate's experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

Qualifications:
• Current and ongoing national certification in ARPN
specialty
• Current unencumbered New York State RN License or ability to
qualify for license
• DNP, PhD, or ability to register in a DNP program of
study.
• Minimum of 2 years full time or 4 years part time clinical
practice experience as an APRN.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative
and participate collaboratively in teams of faculty to support
student success.
• Evidence of (or potential for) clinical scholarship, such as
poster or podium presentations or peer-reviewed publications.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Earned DNP or PhD
• Current unencumbered New York State APRN License or ability to
qualify for license
• Evidence of ongoing membership in local, regional, and national
professional organizations.
• Strong computer skills and willingness to become adept in
school, college, and university software platforms and
procedures
