What will I be doing?
In this role, you’ll produce formal quotations for customers’ enquiries, to support the sales team in winning new projects.
The position offers a great entry point into a world-class business and exposure to multiple departments, process and product lines.
It’s a diverse role that will enable you to utilise your technical engineering knowledge (and offer a route to Chartership) as well as your strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, within a customer-facing environment.
You will:
• Build strong relationships with customers through direct engagement and face-to-face meetings.
• Clarify and understand customers' technical and commercial requirements.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop optimal product solutions and competitive pricing.
• Facilitate communication between our engineering team and customer engineers to build trust in our solutions.
• Prepare cost sheets and tender documents to present clear, optimized proposals.
• Coordinate with the commercial team on pricing and seek internal approvals for tender submissions.
• Follow up on proposals, negotiate to secure orders, and update CRM with proposal activities.
To thrive in this role, you will be/have:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 1-2 years’ relevant experience or equivalent, so able to have valuable technical conversations with the Customer.
• The personality traits and character to build positive working relationships with Customers
• Ability to handle a number of complex projects simultaneously.
• High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
• Customer-focused
• Be able to understand and explain and select technical products after training.
• Ability to learn how to prepare commercial tenders and calculate costings using existing tools.
• The desire and ability to undertake c.30% travel, to global locations
