The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion.

As a Team Leader – Test Cells at Safran Electrical & Power you will manage the engineering test facility onsite, working with the latest in aerospace technology to plan, organise and execute testing to support the development and qualification tests performed on Safran products. You will ensure the successful delivery of work packages for machine and drive systems test cells activities, and defining the overall test cells testing schedule for all programs on site. You will lead the team in supporting maintenance of the current and future environmental and vibration test capabilities, ensuring the team is always a step ahead with innovative testing processes and systems.

The Role

· Manage the test cells team and the engineering test facility, ensuring smooth execution of development and qualification tests on products.

· Responsible for supporting the definition and flow down of business objectives, policies and procedures, monitoring and taking corrective action as and when required.

· Establish processes specific to test cell activities, ensuring the team adhere to the particular processes.

· Ensure the test cells are maintained, calibrated and developed to ensure the testing capabilities can support current and future products.

· Lead the team in supporting maintenance of current and future test capabilities, ensuring the team are always a step ahead with innovative processes.

· Be accountable for the technical quality of all deliverables from the test cells team.

· Act as the bridge between the Validation & Verification team and the various test teams in the engineering team.

· Plan the verification phase of a project in conjunction with the Validation & Verification Engineering team, creating robust plans to meet project timescales and cost objectives.

· Accountable for workload distribution and allocation, monitoring defined objectives and executing work packages supported by other Safran entities.

Desirable Experience

• Extensive experience in a V&V or testing environment.
• Relevant engineering qualification beneficial.
• Strong people management and leadership qualities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple engineering teams.
• Strong decision making and motivational skills.
• Resource, forecasting and demand management.
• Evidence of written English at interview stage.
