Job Description
Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in a Level 3 ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classroom at an elementary school near Summerlee,West Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a strong mitment to improving the lives and educational outes of students with autism. This position offers paraprofessional support to assist with classroom management and student engagement.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with autism.
• Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
• Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions to address the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students.
• Collaborate with other educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff to provide prehensive educational services.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional methods as needed to ensure academic growth.
• municate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and autism support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and other required documentation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with autism, preferably in an elementary school setting.
• Strong understanding of the principles and practices of special education, including the development and implementation of IEPs.
• Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs
