As the Regional Manager, Environmental Health and Safety, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with EHS policies and regulations, mitigating risk, and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability across our operations.

Your Impact:
• EHS Compliance: Act as the primary contact and subject matter expert for all EHS matters within your designated region. Ensure compliance with company policies, programs, and regulatory obligations through regular facility assessments and audits.
• Incident Management: Support operations in managing incidents by capturing, reviewing, and identifying root causes, implementing effective corrective actions, and tracking completion.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive best management practices and continuous improvement in incident management and communication to minimize accidents and risks.
• Performance Metrics: Communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) through the Safety, Environment, and Management System (SEMS) and provide feedback to other departments to enhance safety programs and policies.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the regional EHS expert, collaborating within the EHS&C team and supporting new acquisition integrations.
• Training and Observations: Conduct safety training for new hires, perform observations in various operational settings, and ensure compliance with transportation and environmental regulations.
• Environmental Compliance: Maintain a working knowledge of environmental principles and standards, conduct routine audits, and provide guidance to operations to avoid non-compliance situations.

You Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environment, EHS Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years in EHS compliance, with extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and general knowledge of DOT and EPA or applicable state regulations.
• Strong organizational skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively to all levels within the organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop processes and procedures related to job requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and reprioritize duties as needed.
• Maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality regarding company information.
• Willingness to travel as required to various GFL locations. It is preferred if you are a resident of the following regions: Indianapolis, IN, Denver, CO, St. Louis, MI, Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Kansas City, MI or Mokena, IL
