As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Wireless communication and Integration section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

Someone in this role would typically have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. This position can be hired at any level in our professional career framework, depending on business need at the time of hire.
• *International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available**
Duties & Responsibilities
SOME OF YOUR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Audio System of the Gateway Avionic Audio Sub-System, a critical sub-system of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon.
• Develop and support sub-project Audio Electroacoustics Testing of hardware and verification data packages to support requirements, design, verification/validation and operations.
• Develop and support sub-project Audio VoIP or Packetized Audio Testing of hardware and verification data packages to support requirements, design, verification/validation and operations.
• Perform audio engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process.
• Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance.
• Participate in test, verification, and operation of the as-built hardware.
• Manage and decompose requirements and support design integration activities across modules and with visiting vehicles.
• Evaluate milestone review materials as it fulfills audio requirements of system and engage with module provider companies.
• Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses.
• Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
• Advanced knowledge or class instruction within the audio domain.
• Experience or advance knowledge of Electroacoustics Testing.
• Experience or advanced knowledge of VoIP or Packetized Audio.
PREFERRED
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited school.
• Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
• Experience with NASA processes.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency maybe a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
