The Opportunity:

The Contracts and Grants Specialist IV position will be responsible for supporting Principal Investigators (PIs) in the College of Sciences (COS) Departments/Schools, with the development, coordination, and submission of proposals to Office of Research (OR) for final review and submission. The position will provide pre-award research administration support by guiding and advising the PIs, Chairs/Directors, and administrative staff. Also, assist OR with award processing.

UCF is seeking to fill multiple roles. Candidates for this job posting will be considered for additional vacancies in this department.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Award:
• Provides guidance and develops grant proposals, including preparation and content, in coordination with Research Development and other OR staff, COS PIs, Chairs/Directors, and research coordinators, as necessary.
• Ensures that research proposals, supporting documents and Huron Research Suite (HRS) Funding Proposal Form are reviewed for special conditions (e.g. time and effort, cost share, release time, space needs, etc.), routed and approved by appropriate University officials (e.g. VPR, Dean, Associate Dean, Chair/Director, PI, etc.).
• Coordinates with research collaborators (e.g. subcontractors, consultants, evaluators, vendors, etc.) to ensure their commitment and eligibility and that all proposal documents (e.g. subcontract scope of work, budget, budget justification, subcontractor commitment form, vendor quotes, etc.) are current, accurate and complete.
• Submits completed proposals to OR on behalf of PIs, ensuring that proposals are current, accurate, complete and in full compliance with sponsor and University policies, procedures and other requirements (including but not limited to: IRB, IACUC, Environmental Health & Safety, Technology Transfer and Export Control).
• Serves as point of contact for research related policies and procedures set forth by the sponsor, OR, COS (college-level) and COS Departments/Schools (unit-level).
• Supports other activities in COS related to pre-award, including special reports and analysis.

Award Support:
• Assists with the coordination of contract & grant modification requests (e.g. proposal revisions, budget and budget justification modifications, subaward revisions, etc.).
• Assists in the resolution of compliance issues associated with Uniform Guidance, sponsor terms and conditions and UCF policies and procedures regarding contracts and grants administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in research administration and interpreting policies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication acumen including written, verbal and listening skills and should have the ability to work with individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences.
• Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills, critical analysis abilities and time management skills.
