As a Nurse - Blood Services RN, you will play an essential role in the collection, processing, and administration of blood and blood products. This position requires a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who can ensure the safety and well-being of donors and recipients. The Nurse - Blood Services RN is responsible for managing donor sessions, performing venipunctures, and monitoring patients during blood transfusions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Donor Management: Conduct pre-donation screenings, including medical history interviews and physical assessments, to ensure donor eligibility.
• Venipuncture: Perform venipunctures efficiently and safely, ensuring minimal discomfort for donors. The Nurse - Blood Services RN must maintain a high level of skill in phlebotomy.
• Transfusion Monitoring: Oversee and monitor patients receiving blood transfusions, ensuring they receive the correct blood type and that any adverse reactions are promptly addressed.
• Patient Care: Provide exceptional care and support to donors and patients, addressing any concerns or complications that may arise.
• Education: Educate donors and patients about the donation process, transfusion procedures, and the importance of blood donation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure the highest standards of blood services.
• Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, including infection control protocols and documentation requirements.

Requirements:
• Certification: Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. Certification in Blood Banking or Transfusion Medicine is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role, with a strong preference for experience in blood services or transfusion medicine.
• Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, patient assessment, and transfusion monitoring.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Nurse - Blood Services RN must be able to convey information clearly to donors, patients, and healthcare team members.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with blood collection and transfusion.
