Chungju Plant Manager

Job Purpose

Lead all manufacturing responsibilities for Chungju compounding operations site. Lead strategy development to ensure the achievement of site EHS&S, financial, employee and customer fulfillment deliverables consistent with SBU and SABIC manufacturing goals and processes. Represents SABIC in the community with key government, community and media contacts.

Responsibilities
• Manages the day-to-day operations of the Chungju site manufacturing functions, providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement in a motivated work environment. • Liaises and coordinates with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to support and ensure execution and smooth flow of the company's business
• Implements an optimum... site Manufacturing organization structure for all units within the function in line with the overall SABIC Organization Development strategy and SABIC operational effectiveness strategy so that resources are optimally utilized and communication can take place in an efficient manner.
• Oversees and manages staffing for manufacturing operations. Implements operational effectiveness work processes, driving standardized work. Sets priorities via clear work plans and goals. Flexes staffing and priorities to adjust to changing business priorities. Responsible for training the workforce, managing overtime and addressing employee satisfaction concerns in the operation.
• Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S): Oversee the implementation of key EHS&S strategies at the site, across all facilities (manufacturing and non-manufacturing). Utilization of root cause analysis and implementation of action plans to meet SHER goals. Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements. Drive shared learning by employees and ownership of EH&S at the employee level. Lead interactions with EH&S and other manufacturing resources to identify and implement best practices.
• Productivity & Cash: Oversees and manages budgets and costs in the areas of Compensation & Benefits and Costs (Indirect, Direct and Base). Develops and implements productivity programs and projects to reduce total variable and base costs. Coordinates with the Center of Excellence resources to identify and implement best practices, new operating standards and projects.
• Identify and realize opportunities for improvement of manufacturing efficiency through the optimal use of capital investment.
• Direct all manufacturing preventative and breakdown maintenance and engineering activities to ensure that physical assets are maintained to the highest possible standard and production lines are continuously available to meet sales requirements.
• Direct all raw material supply activities to ensure that adequate stocks are maintained and that stored items are maintained to the highest possible physical condition.

Requirements

Education & Training (degree, training, or certification required)

• Master Engineering Degree desirable.

• BS Engineering Degree

Experience (technical, functional, and/or leadership experience required)
• Minimum 15 years manufacturing experience in chemicals/plastics or closely related petrochemicals industry.
• Broad exposure to plant operations including chemical and compounding operations. At least 10 years managerial experience including significant experience at senior management level

Competencies (key functional, leadership, or business competencies required)
• Thorough understanding of petrochemical industry, customers, markets and competitors
• Good understanding of key manufacturing and operational processes
• Good understanding of Global and Local EHS Law and Policy
• Effective people and performance management coaching and feedback skills
• Proven leadership skills to set direction, engage, inspire and develop people
• Proven track record of setting ambitious business targets, consequent execution and delivery of results
• Proven leadership in project management on manufacturing expansion.
• Deep knowledge in SABIC products production process and clear about values and risks for all chemical additives
