Early Head Start Program Support Specialist

Tracking Code 6785-709 Job Description Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Program Support Specialist for our amazing Early Head Start Program!

The Program Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the program in meeting or exceeding all relevant Head Start Performance Standards, and assisting program staff in delivering high quality services and programming within program and community settings.

The Program Support Specialist will assist program staff in creating and supporting safe, healthy, and welcoming programming environments which support child development and parent skill building. Responsibilities include assisting staff to manage transportation services and maintenance of the REHS van, maintain facility certifications and manage safety drills and necessary equipment; organize socialization activities, assist during parent meetings and field trips, shop for and prepare program food when necessary, perform mandatory program reporting, and assist in the development of program specific projects which foster and nurture child and parent engagement which promotes school readiness .

Schedule: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday 9 - 5 p.m. (some flexibility available with alternative schedules such as: 8 - 4:00 p.m. or 8:30 - 4:30 p.m.)

Required Skills
• Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software and Order Processing Systems
• Current Massachusetts drivers license preferred, in lieu of, candidates must have reliable access to transportation
• Must receive background check clearance for Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), Sex Offender Register Check (SORI), Finger Printing and Department of Children and Families
• Must be certified in pediatric CPR/FA
• Candidates without the required HV CDA credential, but meeting experience and language preferences must enroll in the program sponsored HVCDA and obtain the credential within 120 days of employment
• Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Nepali, or community supported language preferred

Required Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent. One or two years related experience with families with very young children preferred
• Experience with a variety of cultures and languages and with low-income populations
