As a Local Distribution Driver at US Foods, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of food products to local customers on a designated delivery schedule. Key Responsibilities:
• Skillfully handle a tractor-trailer combination vehicle within the confines of local road conditions, following all applicable federal, state, and local codes, and company guidelines.
• Before setting out on a journey, inspect the vehicle to ensure that it is fit for purpose. Take note of any wear and tear, and alert the relevant parties if issues arise.
• Deliver and offload merchandise at specified locations with the aid of loading equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and lift gates.
• The maintenance of product quality and freshness requires accurate order verification and proper handling of products during transportation.
• To foster positive relationships with customers, communicate professionally, validate delivery information, and secure signatures where applicable.
• Administer collection processes and ensure timely payment from customers, where applicable.
• Create a pleasant customer experience by addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner, leveraging every opportunity to exceed their expectations.

• Clean driving history combined with a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) held by the applicant.
• Prior experience of at least six months in commercial driving (regardless of industry) or three months of delivering food and beverages is essential for this position.
• Ability to raise and shift weighty items and execute physical duties connected with the loading and unloading of merchandises.
• Focusing on customer experience by improving communication skills and enhancing service delivery.
• The proficiency to interpret and understand traffic signs and signals, respond to official requests, and accurately maintain reports and records.

Preferred Skills:
• The use of electronic logging devices (ELDs) has made it easier for fleet managers to track the movements of their vehicles, as well as monitor drivers' behavior and fuel usage.
• If you're involved in transporting food products, it is your responsibility to ensure that they are handled in a hygienic and safe manner.
