Job Description – Operations Coordinator

• Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly range
• (POSITION SUMMARY) OBJECTIVE

The primary role of the Operation’s Coordinator is to provide coordination of transportation services for the customer in a timely manner. This role is also important in assisting with warehouse duties and responsibilities. The incumbent also handles all accessories related to the accounts. Job duties may be added or taken away due to operational / business needs and requirements.
• JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

In this position, the Operation’s Coordinator is responsible for:
• Schedule pickup and delivery appointments as requested by the customer.
• Dispatch all loads to ensure information needed for pick up i.e., pick up number, trailer number, location of trailer and temperature requirement of the load.
• Trace all loads to ensure they meet the customer requirements. Resolve and reschedule any issues if required. Report on delays to customers.
• Answer any customer questions customers may have on loads and provide updates to ensure customer satisfaction. Resolve any issues that occur.
• Notify customers of accessorial charges and secure authorization. Approve supplemental charges to ensure the agent payment is timely.
• Send daily reports to customers regarding load information and transit updates.
• Identify new business opportunities with customers to grow the business.
• Forward new business opportunities (alternative modes) to corresponding business department.
• Other duties and assignments as required.
• QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education and Industry Knowledge
• High School diploma is an asset.
• Bachelor / Associate degree in Logistics, Business or related discipline is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years’ intermodal operations experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a warehouse operations role, logistics, inventory management or equivalent work-related experiences.
• Dispatching experience preferred.
• Sit down Counterbalance Forklift Operating License (from certified trainer) required.
• Strong knowledge of US geography& transportation industry.
• Knowledge of cross-border transportation is an asset.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Technical Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Working knowledge of Transportation Management Software (e.g. SAP, AS400).

Work Schedule
• Set working hours of 8 hours per day with requisite meal and rest breaks.
• Consistently report to work on time, prepared to perform required duties.
• Ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Physical Demands
• Regular physical demands: Walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; use fingers for keyboarding; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs minimum.
