St Margarets Primary School

Responsible To: Headteacher /Governors

Responsible For: All adults and children working within the class

The Headteacher and Governors would like to appoint a temporary Year 2 class teacher to join our happy, friendly school. Our school mission statement is ‘Work hard; dream big and never give up’. We hold high expectations of our children and staff and believe that everyone can achieve.

We are a successful and nurturing school and are lucky to have a very supportive staff and governing body who work hard with the children to promote our school’s Christian values: Love, Respect, Friendship, Resilience, Forgiveness and Trust.

This is a temporary role for 6 months pending the return of the class teacher.

JOB PURPOSE

The successful candidate will:

Be an exemplary practitioner, ensuring that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet the varying learning and social needs of children in their class;

Be prepared to go above and... beyond to ensure children receive the highest quality curriculum and learning environment

Take great pride in the classroom and ensure it is well-organised, inviting, purposeful and reflective of learning;

Be able to work reflectively and with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude

Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom;

Contribute to constructive team building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and governors;

Deliver inspiring activities for children which are inclusive and exciting;

Have due regard to the requirements of the national curriculum, the school’s aims and objectives, schemes of work and policies laid down by the Governing Body;

Participate and share in the corporate responsibility for the well-being and behaviour of all the pupils in the school;

Support the school policy in terms of establishing good relationships, working closely with pupils, staff, parents and visitors;

Liaise with the appropriate outside agencies.

ENTITLEMENT

The provision of preparation, planning and assessment time.

Support for the provision of professional development opportunities. E.g. performance management, access to training courses.
