Who we are:

Tayto Group Ltd is the UK’s 3rd largest snack manufacturer, renowned for producing great tasting snacks that are consumed by millions of people every day. You’ll be familiar with our Golden Wonder, REAL, TAYTO and Mr Porky brands, but may not know we are the UK’s leading supplier of private label snacks! With a rich heritage spanning decades, we are, and have always been, committed to delivering quality and innovation with every bite!

About The Role

Due to an extensive period of growth, here at Tayto Group Ltd, we are now looking to maximise the rewards of that growth and create some new, exciting opportunities! We have now created additional roles for Multi-Skilled Engineers to continue to drive the success of the Business Units at our flagship site in Corby!

Together with your team, you will take guidance from your Area Engineering Manager and Business Unit Manager to effectively carry out reactive and preventative maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to... production requirements.

On a typical day you will:
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of food processing machinery
• Fabricate and machine components as required
• Conduct any repairs or modifications to machinery
• Fit and assemble mechanical components during reactive or preventative maintenance tasks
• Work closely with the team to ensure minimal disruption to downtime across the site
• Carry out electrical fault-finding and root cause analysis to identify reoccurring issues
• Liaise closely with the Area Engineering Manager and Business Unit Manager regarding potential issues and rectification methods

What we’ll need from you:
• A recognised Engineering qualification, whether that is an NVQ Level 3, BTEC, Time-Served Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent
• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideally a food processing factory, but this isn’t essential
• Experience working with conveyors and packaging machinery. Experience working with fryers would be a huge advantage but isn’t essential
• Demonstrable experience in both electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs

This is a site-based role operating on a 3’s & 2’s (Panama) 12hr shift pattern – Rotating Days & Nights and is commutable from Corby, Kettering, Peterborough, Huntingdon, Alconbury, Market Harborough, Leicester and Northampton.

We’ll provide you with all the tools to learn, develop the role and yourself and will support with additional training needs where required, inclusive of external providers and OEM training.
