Due to business expansion, Sapphire Utility Solutions are currently looking for a Site Manager based at the Bamber Bridge site in Lancashire. You must hold either a OS19X or OS20X, hold a UK drivers licence and have experience working within the drainage industry. Please read further below the responsibilities, skills and competencies we require.

Salary: Up to £37,500 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours of work: 50 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 06.00am-16.00pm.

Base location: Bamber Bridge, Preston.

Purpose Of Role

To oversee site operations, directing and organising site activities to ensure that the planned work is delivered safely and on time; and monitoring that performance meets recognised standards of productivity, quality and compliance with essential health and safety provisions.

Responsibilities
• Lead and motivate a team to deliver all aspects of planning and operations.
• Deliver works safely and on time, whilst adhering to requirements.
• Management of the... operatives reporting into them.
• Conduct detailed and thorough site visits.
• Maintain accurate records of site resources, materials and plant and providing daily resource sheets.
• Managing subcontract performance.
• Ensuring all operatives have appropriate vehicles, equipment, stores, and skills to perform allocated work.
• Liaise with customers, clients, local authorities and other interested third parties regarding past, present, and future works.
• To provide sufficient and timely supervision, assessments and coaching to ensure gangs are performing to our sufficient company standards.
• Perform quality on site assessments checks (x8 Audits per month).
• Regularly undertake all necessary and appropriate Toolbox Talks, Briefings, and other communications.
• To perform weekly fleet and plant checks ensuring fleet, plant and equipment maintenance is carried out and calibrated within the correct timescales.
• Maintain own levels of skills and knowledge to do the job effectively.
• Comply with relevant company HSEQ and welfare policy provisions.
• Ensure all clients set KPI’s are met or exceeded.
• Ensure all operative training records and ID Cards records are kept up to date.
• Manage all day-to-day HR queries ensuring all updates are added to the HR system, and all HR processes and procedures are followed.
• Ensure all timesheets are submitted within the timescales set by payroll. And these are checked and correct at the time of submission. Where necessary telematics checks are carried out to verify timesheet submission.
• Submit accurate records into the sales sheet for works completed each day, ensuring all information is correct, accurate and within budget.
• Ensuring all operatives driving company vehicles adhere to company policy, where necessary interventions to be carried out to coach or take disciplinary action against offenders that is relevant to the offence committed.
• To manage and assess the competencies of all operatives on site through the competency assessment programme.

Qualifications
• Able to drive and have a full current, valid driving licence.
• Hold OS19X or OS20X.

Skills
• Ability to manage a budget.
• Ability to lead and motivate people.
• Computer literate.
• Carrying out asset surveys and CSO surveys, completing STC25 manhole cards for client information.
• Carrying out and coding up of structural CCTV surveys using Wincan.
• Experienced user of GIS systems and updating of the existing information to edit and correct it.
• Must have an understanding of site investigations and instructing the teams regarding further work.
• Must have commercial awareness and understand basic business finance e.g., Capital revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc.
• Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively, particularly to external parties such as the client, their customers, and local authorities.
• Must have the skills and confidence to supervise and coordinate site requirements and tasks.

Experience
• At least 5 years drainage experience.
• Proven experience of previous supervision on site.
• Proven experience in managing high output, plain line and/or S&C Constructions sites.
• Experienced engineering supervisors.

Technical Competencies
• Safety Management training.
• Understanding health and safety legislation.
• In depth knowledge of street works regulations.
• Hold recognised supervisory or leadership in management course or equivalent in experience.
• IOSH managing safely.
