Our office located in Hartford, CT, is seeking an Associate APD Claims Representative to join the team!

Job Overview:

Our office in Hartford, CT is seeking an Associate APD Claims Service Representative. The job duties include but are not limited to handling personal lines insurance claims including auto, homeowners, marine and liability claims. This position mainly handles auto physical damage claims. Substantial customer contact via the telephone and correspondence is required.


• Manage a backlog of claims and diary system to ensure appropriate and timely communication, claim monitoring and file reporting.
• Ensure thorough investigations and research are completed to establish and evaluate coverage for assigned claims.
• Monitor claim-related communications and take appropriate action to address stakeholder needs, consider additional claim exposures, and make proper data entries into the claim system
• Build favorable working relationships with all employees and helps to maintain a strong culture of collaboration, communication, and service.
• Act to resolve claims within designated authority level.
• Develop a working understanding of the laws and regulations that impact claims handling
• Identify claim files that merit SIU and/or subrogation referral for supplemental claim handling.
Salary and Work Schedule:

Our annual starting salary is between $45,158- $54,890 based on your level of experience and/or applicable licenses within the property and casualty industry. In addition, we offer a competitive monthly commission and quarterly bonus pay structure based on the number of policies written and cross-sale referrals.

We are currently hiring for a 37.5 hours/week schedule from 8:45 am - 5:00 pm.

Work from home may be available up to two days a week once trained to work independently.

• High school diploma or equivalent education required
• Required to obtain state insurance licenses as needed and meet continuing education requirements
• Strong organizational, time management and priority-setting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with appropriate supervision
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Solid decision making skills, ability to handle conflicts and deal with difficult situations
• Previous insurance, claims, and customer service experience preferred
