Position Summary The Gateway Spacecraft Engineer will create and clarify system and requirements and architectural specifications in consideration of specifications for network. Duties & Responsibilities Create and clarify system and requirements and architectural specifications in consideration of specifications for network (IEEE802.3 Ethernet, and TTE (Time-Triggered Ethernet) protocols) Define network architecture in coordination with the development team, product management and the design and software department Create network design requirements Coordinate and documentation of the concepts phase Ensure the traceability of requirements Analyze, evaluate, and assess the limitations of internal, vendor and module prime contractor requirements. Implementation, moderation and documentation of reviews Requirement management of existing products. Perform other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Project or Program Manager Qualifications Required:
BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited engineering school and 5 years of related experience Advanced degrees may be counted as experience Strong background in avionics Command and Data Handling, with emphasis on how spacecraft systems route data Strong background in ethernet protocols Experience in managing requirements and system engineering verification testing in the aerospace sector Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision Experience working in a team environment with collaboration tools such as Slack, Webex, Teams Requisition Preferences:
Basic knowledge of embedded programming Time Triggered Ethernet (TTE) experience is a plus Experience with spacecraft avionics and circuit design or analysis is a plus Previous experience in the application of computer network technology in space systems is a plus
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
