About You and this Role

Dow is looking for a Process Equipment Engineer to join our team in Freeport, TX!

In this position, you will provide engineering support to address plant issues impacting production in the short term. Your technical expertise, whether equipment-based or repair-technique-based, will enhance the availability and maintainability of the facility.

• Act as a subject matter expert on equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
• Develop maintenance operating discipline.
• Offer technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating equipment design suitability for its intended or existing service conditions.
• Ensure work requests include engineering input on repair details and provide technical support for deviations from this data for critical process equipment.
• Document and make available repairs, repair techniques, and equipment-specific training.
• Contribute maintainability input to Global Project Methodology activities.
• Assist the preventive maintenance coordinator in reviewing spare parts lists for existing equipment.
• Enter quality, service, and product performance information into the reporting system.
• Help develop the maintenance budget to support the maintenance strategy.
• Provide engineering input for work packages to ensure standards are followed and offer input during the development of turnaround work for critical equipment.
• Provide equipment reliability and performance data to technical resource networks for input on equipment purchasing, performance evaluation, vendor performance, and MET modifications.
• Complete EH&S orientation and all required training, exhibiting safe work behaviors.
• Support Industrial Hygiene and other EH&S work process activities, incorporating safety considerations in planning and maintenance implementation.
• Use maintenance spending, reliability, and maintenance metrics for assigned areas, understanding the Facility Maintenance Strategy objectives and equipment failure history.
• Analyze maintenance spending impact and identify improvement opportunities, initiating and implementing reliability-related MOCs in coordination with leadership.
• Understand Long Term Cost of Ownership principles and troubleshoot maintenance spending with guidance.

• A minimum of a bachelors degree in engineering or relevant military experience (U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking or above).
• At least 3 years of maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
• Comfort and safety in working at elevated heights, with training in safety equipment usage.
• Possession or eligibility to obtain a TWIC card as per U.S. Government and Department of Homeland Security policy.
• Legal ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
