As our Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing finance & administration. A strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will help streamline our financial planning, reporting and budgeting processes while managing audits, ensuring tax compliance, governance and risk management.

The ideal candidate excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments and demonstrates a strong blend of accounting expertise, financial analysis skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities. You are adept at navigating complex challenges, developing and implementing financial management strategies, and ensuring an organization’s overall financial health.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Financial management ... operations (25%)
• Business compliance & governance, risk management
• Continuous improvement of back-office operations
• Lead weekly corporate services team meeting (extended work hours)
• Legal and insurance, corporate minute books & resolutions, contracts, leases, and remote offices

Controller (35-40%)
• Internal & external audits and tax compliance (including government remittances & reporting)
• Collaborate with HR (team of 3) for resource and capacity planning
• Collaborate with Marketing (lead) for funding, investments, cost recoveries, and reconciliation
• Financial controls, policies and standard operating procedures
• Banking
• Supplier relationships

Financial planning & analysis (20%)
• Budgeting, expense management and cash flow management
• Budget variance reporting, ratios, financial planning & analysis
• Growth management, forecasting and projections

Accounting & admin management (15-20%)
• Manage accounting operations and office administration – supervise a bookkeeper; oversee collections, disbursements & payroll; manage inter-company transactions & reporting; supervise a sales operations specialist for recurring and contractual billings
• Timely operational reporting – monthly financial statements and management reports

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Ideal candidates have the following profile:
• Management accountant with professional certification (CPA or CMA) and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience
• Experience in a technology consulting and VAR (value-added reseller) environment
• Experience dealing with suppliers and clients in Canada, the US and the Caribbean (working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting)
• Highly organized, detail oriented, multi-tasker, critical thinker & problem solver, likes to take ownership, works well under pressure, anticipates
• Highly proficient with O365, BI & analytical tools (preferably IBM), governance & compliance reporting tools (preferably IBM
