jobs description

As an Art Consultant with Clarendon Fine art, you will be joining a dynamic, ambitious, sales and client focused team, who from our beautiful boutique gallery in Haslemere provide a personalised consultation service to bring beautiful artwork to our exclusive and ever extending client base.

Please make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.
You don’t need to be an art expert for this role, we will teach you everything you need to know; however, you do need to have a hunger and drive to deliver an exceptional experience, to network and build your client base, and to meet and exceed sales targets.
As the world’s largest Gallery group, we hold an unrivalled reputation as the UK’s leading fine art publisher and distributor of original artwork and collectable limited editions. Through our extensive network of galleries, we showcase an award-winning, innovative, extensive, and adventurous portfolio of contemporary classics, modern masterpieces... statement street art and stunning sculpture. Founded 30 years ago by Helen Swaby to tackle the elitism that dominates the world of art, we work in partnership with many of the finest artists from around the world, showcasing award winners and household names such as Mr Brainwash, Christian Hook, and Fabian Perez. Alongside this our portfolio offers our clients an exciting range of 20th century masters such as L.S Lowry, Picasso, Chagall, and Dali.
The quality of our portfolio and the relationships we build with our clients both existing and new is what sets us apart from the rest.
Day to day you will:
Provide a first-class consultative service to all clients to create desire and convert to sales.
Build and nurture long term client relationships to create loyalty and sales opportunity.
Deliver a personalised service including private artwork showings in gallery, at the clients home, or office, to showcase artwork specifically selected for the client.
Engage with and build your client database using the CRM to create deep and lasting relationships to create sales and experience opportunities.
Curate the gallery to always be beautiful and inspiring, bringing the artwork to life to attract new business.
Manage and host your client guestlist at an array of Artists events with a view to creating memorable interactions and experiences for your clients whilst selling pieces to enrich their lives.
What we’re looking for:
Ambitious and target driven with experience working to and achieving targets/sales figures.
Warm, confident, and outgoing personality that will welcome our clients, creating the desire for artwork, making it easy for them to buy.
Intuitive, engaging and creative with the ability to understand the clients preferences and desires to match and convert the sale on their perfect piece of art.
Luxury sales experience is advantageous but not essential
An art background or passion for art would again be advantageous but not essential.
What we’ll offer you:
Competitive basic salary with uncapped commission potential (Average OTE £40,000 - £45,000)
Lucrative commission structure affording up to 5% of all sales made on and over target.
Industry leading Art Academy training course to provide you with the tools you need to succeed.
Beautiful Gallery setting, architecturally designed to exquisitely display the artist portfolio.
40hrs per week, working 5 days over 7 including weekends and occasional evening events.
33 days annual leave (25 days holiday plus bank holidays in lieu if worked)
Contributory employee pension scheme.
Employee PERKS through Bravo benefits inc. discounts on food, drink, retailers, and fun days.
Sell artwork, buy art work – as a thank you for all your hard work we offer a fantastic employee discount scheme of up to 50%.
We embrace our differences as our collective strength which is why we are passionate about actively encouraging applicants from all cultures, backgrounds and identities. We are committed to treating our teams fairly and with respect, irrespective of their actual or assumed background, disability, or any other protected characteristic and this starts with our recruitment process. So please join us on our journey!
