GKN Automotive Hungary :

It is a truly exciting time to join us at GKN Automotive... in Hungary. We are building a new manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Miskolc which will primarily include assembly, and office accommodation.

Our Miskolc facility will represent an important regional facility for the driveline technologies that GKN Automotive supply to our global customer base and in phase-1, we will employ up to 500 people from the local community in 2023, and will continue to develop the site over time in further phases in line with our ambition to double (or even triple!) the scale of our site.

We are seeking a Heat treatment specialist to join our team.

Job Description
• Performs market research on technology innovations relating to processes of competence
• Plant process reference of assistance machinery processes within its competence
• Plant process reference at NBA (CC Compliance, Manufacturing Risk Assessment…)
• Plant process reference for purchase of new machinery and/or refurbishing processes
• Direct interface with Metallurgic laboratory department
• Manage Plant process Data for follow-up, trend analysis and concern support
• Technically supports in front of Concerns and corresponding root cause, countermeasures definition,
• deployment and management (CERs & LL) and sharing
• Identify and develop the key Skills for the plant personnel related with the process in the plant:
• Manufacturing engineering, metallurgist, foreman, operators, maintenance…
• Deploy and certify the Training received during the Workshops to the plant (new STDs and Best Practices)
• Work together with the other plants experts and the relative TMDM (Technology Manufacturing Development Manager at Workshops) to benchmark, identify and
• develop the best practices and GKN standards
• Leading the Core Process project at plant level, developing and monitoring the execution of action plans,
• Support the local problem solving and other plants if required

Requirements
• Engineering - Metallurgical, heat treatment,
• Materials Sciences (Ferrous Based preferred)
• Design techniques and project management
• Business law and regulations especially security, environmental protection, technical specifications and the machinery directive
• Machine definition
• Process audit, and validation methods
• Gauging, control plan and flowing out prevention
• Industrializing activities and technical documentation relating to special processes including stage drawings, Setup - instructions, parameters settings and control.
• Trained to specifics arguments applied over respective plant processes:
• Metallurgy
• Heat treatment processes, diagram Fe-C and Bain curves
• Process Quality
• Non-destructive quality checks
• Part performance vs HT
• Failure mode
• MF Process
• Safety rules (GKN and local) with specific reference to the Heat Treatment related process
• Manufacturing induction hardening, carburizing, neutral hardening standards and application methods
• Induction hardening, carburizing, neutral hardening new parts approach methodology
• Core Process KPI
• Process Monitoring System(s)
• Problem solving
• Lean/5’s methods, problem solving
