The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for Lab Specialist.

The successful candidate will be expected to...
• Support the assessment of research methodologies, procedures, and techniques, aiming to meet predefined goals.
• May conduct surgeries on small animals.
• Offer fundamental support to researchers in handling, computing, and analyzing data utilizing specialized statistical software.
• Analyze results of experiments using statistical and multivariate methods.
• Gather, organize, and manage detailed statistical, numerical, and computational reports. Engage in library and scholarly research.
• Aid in teaching laboratory academic sections about lab methods, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Clarify work instructions and adjust general methods and procedures to align with research requirements.
• Help in training other team members on various procedures.
• This role may also encompass additional responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree.
• Experience: 3 years of experience. 6 years of lab-related experience accepted in lieu of degree.

This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. This Non-Exempt level, benefited position. For more information on the benefits at UVA, visit hr.virginia.edu/benefits.

This position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
