Job Description

Essential Functions:

Adheres to the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to ensure efficient and effective patient care:
• Collects extensive and accurate information that is relevant to the recipient's medical condition or circumstances.
• Scrutinizing the evaluation information is necessary to determine the diagnosis or points of contention.
• A healthcare plan that is centered around the patient can lead to improved clinical outcomes and quality of life.
• Designs a comprehensive plan that considers various factors and variables that may affect the attainment of expected outcomes.
• Carries out the designed plan and follows up with patients to ensure they are advancing appropriately.
• The coordination of care facilitates efficient communication among healthcare providers.
• Health promotion and education programs utilize innovative techniques designed to prevent disease and promote healthy behaviors.
• To encourage positive change, the advanced practice registered nurse and the nursing role specialist use their knowledge and skills to provide consultation services that influence the identified plan and improve the abilities of others.
• Gauging the level of success in reaching the targeted outcomes.

Emphasizes the importance of the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010) in achieving optimal patient outcomes:
• The quality and effectiveness of nursing practice can be significantly improved through a systematic methodology
• Being well-versed and competent in contemporary nursing practices is an essential attribute for nurses
• Nurses must frequently assess their practice to ensure they are adhering to professional practice standards and guidelines and staying within the parameters of applicable laws and regulations

Efficiently integrate technology and software solutions to streamline processes:
• Assist and record patient care under the nursing profession.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

The demands of this job are physically grueling, requiring constant exertion of force greater than 25 pounds (67-100% of the time), frequent exertion of more than 50 pounds of force (34-66% of the time), and occasional exertion of over 100 pounds of force (up to 33% of the time) in order to move objects. Those in this position may also be exposed to radiation and frequently exposed to contaminated needles and infectious body fluids. Additionally, workers must be able to work variable shifts, including night shifts or irregular hours.
