What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Estimator to join the team at AVRS, a Galliford Try business.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Middlesbrough area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

Review tender information, read and interpret drawings, undertake site visits, carry out take offs and submit quotes and estimates to clients within the water & Nuclear sectors and write up proposal documents.
• Receive tender information from clients.
• Carry out take off of required materials.
• Undertake site visits where... necessary.
• Negotiation of cost (and approval with line managers)
• Submit take off to suppliers to provide prices.
• Calculate cost of installation using bespoke norms.
• Ensure each tender is completed in line with expectations.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders & management.
• Good knowledge of relevant legislations, standards, regulations, guides and good practice.
• Seek, complete and record evidence of, continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with the requirements of the requirements of the relevant professional Institution.
• To have thorough knowledge of and compliance with relevant Engineering procedures and standards.
• To undertake other tasks as instructed by the contract/Project manager

About You:
• A background in Mechanical Engineering in a process industry such as the water sector.
• Qualified with suitable experience.
• Ability to think clearly and demonstrate rational behind proposals.
• Ability to negotiate.
• excellent oral & written communication skills.
• Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of electrical principles.
• Mentoring of junior colleagues, sharing technical knowledge and experience.
