Medical Professional Officers must undergo a comprehensive 26-day military orientation and training program held in San Antonio, TX, at Fort Sam Houston. The instructors leading the program are experienced Medical Professional Officers themselves.

Enlisting in the military is a requirement. Candidates must satisfy the minimum criteria for eligibility. The actual assignment to a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) is contingent on availability. Please note that benefits are subject to revisions.

Requirements
• Meet the necessary medical and ethical standards for Officer appointment
• Hold citizenship of the United States
• Completion of an accredited qualifying degree program

• Some Advanced Practice Medical Professionals may apply up to age 58
• Ability to acquire a secret security clearance
