Position Summary

This position serves as Adirondack Health’s primary contact for patient/insurance reimbursement issues in accordance with established policies and payer. Responsible for assisting with analyzing, researching and trending toward the resolution and reduction of credit balances and balance discrepancies. The analyst/supervisor will work with management to create and run various... reports out of PFS applications for data mining. The analyst/supervisor must possess accounting principles. This position will assist in cash posting and billing when necessary and is required to be familiar with payer contracts. All communication is conducted in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt reimbursement for services. The analyst/supervisor will be responsible for setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with Adirondack Health’s servant leadership mission and vision. Responsible for organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks. Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

Salary Range

$17.91-$27.77 per hour

Educational Requirements/ Qualifications
• Required Minimum Education: High school diploma required associate in business or related field is preferable.
• Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in PFS directly involved in billing/collections of accounts receivable. Knowledge of Third-Party Payers, patient accounts and billing. Must be able to understand and interpret payer explanation of benefits. Proficiency in operation of computer terminal and personal computer equipment. Able to communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and insurance companies to explain payment policies.
• Required Skills: Must possess a strong background with reporting and advanced knowledge with Microsoft excel. Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving. Must be comfortable interacting with various management levels. Demonstrated professionalism and flexibility to work schedules based on need
