Purpose And Scope:

As part of their participation in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP), the RN (Outpatient Dept), a registered nurse, is accountable for providing and coordinating clinically competent care to a specific group of patients. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and delegate appropriate tasks to other direct patient care staff. Principal Duties And Responsibilities:

The reliable fulfillment of all duties and responsibilities within the Fresenius Kidney Care setting hinges on upholding the companys policies, nursing practice standards, and federal/state regulations.
• Performs all vital tasks while working with the guidance of the Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or other Registered Nurses and following the directives given by the Supervisor.
• Evaluation and documentation of patient data are performed throughout hemodialysis therapy by the healthcare provider assigned to the patient. The data obtained are used to adjust the patient's treatment plan accordingly, and relevant medical personnel are informed of these changes.
• Examines, coordinates with, and documents the basic learning needs of patients and their families, with an objective to offer essential education service, initially and consistently.
• Ensures secure and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients, directing and collaborating with both direct and indirect patient care staff.
• Administers drugs as directed or according to accepted algorithms, while also recording the proper medical justification and the drugs' efficacy.
• Aids in initiating or implementing emergency response measures.
• Acts as an important member of the healthcare team, participates in staff development and assists in the orientation of fresh members as allocated.
• Verifies that proper laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are followed and makes arrangements for missed or incomplete laboratory collections to be rescheduled.
• Collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team facilitates the identification of expected outcomes and documentation of updated nursing assessments and plans of care for assigned patients.
• Ensures that patients are aware of the different treatment pathways, including transplantation.
• The fulfillment of the CAP requirements is a prerequisite for advancing to the next level of your studies or job.
• Completes all supplementary responsibilities as instructed by the Boss.

Physical Demands And Working Conditions:

• Hands-on care of patients is a crucial facet of this role, entailing lifting, transporting, and aiding patients in walking. Assistive devices and/or coworkers may be present to provide support.

• There is a possibility that the staff member will need to relocate equipment or machinery weighing as much as 200 pounds, while receiving aid. In addition, they may be tasked with lifting water and chemical solutions weighing up to 30 pounds to as high as 5 feet.
• In a healthcare facility, an inviting working environment with air temperature control and moderate noise levels is the norm.
• The likelihood of encountering infectious microbes or contagious materials cannot be ignored.
• The workday is comprised of completing paperwork from a desk, working with computers, interacting with medical professionals, patients, and facility/hospital staff.
• The job may involve visits to various sites, which could include training centers or other facilities.
• The fundamental functions of this role may involve performing similar duties in other locations having the same physical demands and work conditions described above.
• Applicants will be asked to complete the Ishihara Color Blindness examination to be considered for employment. If a candidate is unable to pass this test, it does not mean that they won't be hired. Supervision:

One can accept the role of overseeing Patient Care Technicians/LPNs/LVNs/RNs as a Team Leader or designated Nurse in Charge after ensuring that all the prerequisites have been met:
• The fulfillment of all FKC education and training obligations is a mandatory component for new employees to prove their readiness for the job.
• Prior experience is a must for RN applicants, with a minimum of 9 months being required.
• Before applying, the RN position demands that the candidate must possess at least three months of experience in handling both chronic and acute hemodialysis.

Education and Licensure:
• One who passed a nursing course from a recognized academic institution.
• The valid state certification that is currently necessary for legal operation.
• BLS CPR certification must be renewed regularly to ensure healthcare professionals have the knowledge and skills to respond to emergencies.
• The person must abide by the practice requirements of the state in which they work.

Experience And Required Skills:
• A position is available for registered nurses who have had less than a year of experience in nephrology nursing in the last two years.
• The preference is for applicants who have at least 9 months of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous experience with both long-term and short-term hemodialysis treatments preferred.
