Description of Work

This position is responsible for the scheduling of surgical and endoscopy procedures for the operating rooms at Central Prison Health Care Complex. The LPN enters pre-operative orders and communicates the care plan for scheduled procedures with nursing staff. This position collaborates with internal and external providers, anesthesia, custody, and other health care... professionals the essential information needed for each discipline to fulfill their role in the surgical process for the offender. The OR data base system is maintained by this position. The work schedule is Monday - Friday with no weekends, holidays, or call backs.

Management Preferences

Operating room or scheduling experience preferred but not required.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

NC Department of Adult Correction (DAC):

The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission and Rehabilitation & Reentry.

• Demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing and skills attendant to its practice.

Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
