Process Engineer

Slave Lake, Alberta

We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Process Engineer with continuous improvement experience to join our Athabasca OSB Division, located in Slave Lake, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative products for customers around the world.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Science or Wood Sciences, or relevant technical experience.
• General knowledge of manufacturing processes in OSB preferred.
• Proven experience in an industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with process... optimization, data analysis, and trial evaluation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a 'hands-on' focused approach to improvement.
• Ability to cooperate with all levels of the organization.
• Values driven leadership skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Your ideal workday will look something like this:
• You champion improvement initiatives for current products and processes.
• You monitor, analyze, and reduce process variability to increase production throughput while maintaining compliance to product standards.
• You put creativity into action and apply your knowledge in statistical process control by running experimental trials and evaluations.
• You help drive change through innovative new product development.
• You establish and maintain a program of quality checks, testing and data collection to ensure the conformity of incoming raw materials and compliance with product standards.
• You leverage your analytical ability to identify and solve complex problems.
• You provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to a small team.
• You lean on your strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build relationships and embed product quality and innovation in the mindset of others.

• You'll earn an additional northern allowance on top of your base pay.
