Business Analyst IN MUSKEGON, MI

Job Function

Support the operational control of Scherdel Sales & Technology, Inc. (SST), preparing operational and financial reports that serve as summary information to managers, identifying relevant results, and compiling analytical reports that allow other employees of the company to make informed decisions regarding operations, cost reductions, and improvements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform monthly booking audits.
• Design controls, review, and prepare monthly accruals.
• Prepare monthly forecasts and reviews of inventory, productivity, and variance analyses.
• Evaluate, develop, and maintain internal control systems.
• Prepare monthly dashboards with key KPIs.
• Gather the necessary information to analyze the monthly Profit & Loss statement.
• Prepare reports, breakdowns, and cost analysis for specific areas by creating and maintaining tools for area managers to help the company track the budget.
• Prepare varying types of ad hoc analyses/reports.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Apply a continuous improvement mindset.
• Prepare and present financial results.
• Assist in establishing and developing annual budgets.
• A strong, collaborative, and open approach to working with other departments, providing supporting information and details to help achieve budgeted results within the organization.
• Lead cross-functional productivity projects.
• Special Projects as required.

Required skills:

• Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality.
• Proficient in relevant software
• Mastered computer skills in Microsoft Windows and all Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, specifically effective in formula writing (no macros).

required education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
• Minimum of 3 years previous experience in accounting, data analysis, controlling, or a similar role.
• Solid experience in developing and interpreting financial results.
• People management and leadership skills advantageous.
