Christian Horizons Global in Ethiopia [CH-G] is non-profit, apolitical, licensed, development and humanitarian International NGO. CH-G has been working in Ethiopia for the last 19 years with the poorest of the poor. CH Global in Ethiopia responds to the staggering need facing persons with exceptional needs in developing countries. Its focus is to improve living conditions, promote social awareness, provide education and training and promote greater opportunities for person with exceptional needs. CH-G serves: persons with developmental, intellectual or physical disabilities, children at risk [those who have been abandoned, orphaned, or affected by poverty, war or illness], marginalized communities who support persons with exceptional needs including caregivers, impoverished women, single parent etc through its multi-thematic programmes and... projects.

Through short-term projects and long term programmes CH-G responds to communities and organizations who ask for its assistance through collaborative, results based sustainable and accountable program delivery.

One of the programs that CH-G in Ethiopia is about to lunch is Technical and Vocational Education and Training [TVET] program which targets to train unemployed and underemployed youth, women and PWDs. Thus, in this program CH wants to hire qualified professionals in the following vacant position.

1. Program/Project: Technical and vocational Education & Training Program [TVET-Program];
2. Vocational Program: Tailoring & Garment;
3. Position title: Tailoring Training Officer
4. No. of Position: one [1]
5. Gender: Both
6. Job summary: The trainer of the Tailoring and Garment Program is responsible for teaching trainees, prepare manuals and training materials to the program and with the work shop assistant he/she has to arrange adequate practical hours to meet and prepare the trainers for the Center Of Competency (COC) exams by meeting all the Ethiopian Occupational standards given by the government. In addition to this the trainer is expected to contact with different Organizations/Industries/ to give the students on actual work environment. The Training Officer is responsible for the day to day delivery of instruction within the facility and will work under the supervision of the TVET Program Coordinator.

7. Major responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

a. Actively Participate in the Revision and development of curriculum
b. Identify the occupational standard of the program
c. Create awareness of the trainee about the curriculum
d. Prepare the session plan according to the standard for each competency and submit to the training advisor the week preceding the sessions;
e. Conducting lesson plan execution ,training classes, sessions, and programs of instruction, administration of examinations, and provide the TVET Program Coordinator with feedback on trainees
f. Prepare the Teaching Training Learning Materials (TTLM) with the required standards for each main course in consultation with the training advisors of each occupation.
g. Demonstrate how to use tools; how tasks are performed in workshop and monitor machine operation.
h. Follow –up the progress of achievement of the trainees from the advisory programs and report the outcome to the training facilitator
i. Observe and evaluate students' performance and conduct remedial instruction for trainees who fail to meet the prescribed lesson standards.
j. Maintain student records and provide weekly attendance and progress reports of trainees in their classes to the TVET Program Coordinator.
8. Qualification (Know-How):
a. Education/training;
i. Required: diploma/10+3/ in Tailoring, Garment technology and related field of studies;
ii. Desired B.A degree in the aforementioned discipline/area of specialization;
b. Experience
i. Four year four diploma holders and 2 years for degree holders of direct work experience and/ or working with Technical and vocational training Colleges
ii. Desired: NGO experience.

9. Technical skills/Competence
a. COC exam passing certificate for Diploma holders [compulsory]
b. Background in Educational diploma or higher diploma in Teaching is advantageous;
c. Outstanding experience in the manufacturing of textile products;
d. Must have a good sight for color and style discrimination.
e. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
f. Oromiffa language is advantageous

11. Term of Employment: Full time contract. Employment is for one year with high possibility of extension.

13. Working Condition
The incumbent is required to do extended amount of time to prepare and make the trainees competent. Willingness to work on the weekends;
