Cabot School District is hiring a Site Director for its afterschool... program.The program is centered around afterschool clubs that allow first through sixth graders to explore science and nature, technology, Vermont cultural heritage, the arts, and recreation. These clubs are led by teachers and community partners working alongside student facilitators from the middle and high school. Other daily activities include snack and recess as well as free-choice time when children can take part in indoor and/or outdoor games.The Project Director will provide leadership and oversight for Cabots afterschool program. They will manage the State Afterschool Grant and plan for the programs sustainability.

The site director will work up to 20 hours per week : The project director is responsible for program development and administration tasks, which may be performed either in person at Cabot School or remotely.Responsibilities: Administrative (50%) Prepare registration materials for all afterschool sessions and promote the programs to students and families. Manage the State Afterschool Grant that funds afterschool, including reviewing monthly spending reports. Track and manage data related to enrollment, attendance, and program assessment. Maintain accurate and accessible records of family contact information, authorizedpickup people, and participant health issues.

Communicate with families at the beginning of each session to confirm their children'sregistration and detail program expectations. Communicate regularly with families throughout the session to keep them updated onwhat their children are doing, as well as reinforce expectations and announce anyprogram changes. Provide information to staff about participants in their clubs as well as scheduling andprogram expectations. Assist staff with purchasing any supplies.

Draw up agreements with community partners. Promote the program to the community through social media and other platforms.Program Management (25%) Supervise the program supervisor and provide weekly check-in meetings. Ensure that staff and students follow all protocols intended to ensure physical safety and social-emotional wellness. Supervise field trips and help transport children in a personal or school vehicle when needed.Program Development and Leadership (25%) Work with community partners to plan field trips and occasional special on-site events.

Recruit and help onboard afterschool staff, including student facilitators. Schedule high-quality programming (clubs) for each session. Help adult club facilitators plan lessons that are accessible and engaging for children. Build and maintain relationships with community partners and educators interested inleading an afterschool club or helping to support the program in other ways.

Schedule and facilitate regular group meetings with youth facilitators to discusschallenges and successes, as well as plan activities for pre- and post-club time. Coordinate training opportunities for adult staff and youth facilitators. Solicit and analyze feedback from afterschool program families, children and staff at the end of each session. Work with the Cabot School principal to plan for the projects sustainability and future programming.The pay is $35.00 per hour for this grant-funded position.
