The Packaging Engineer 2 position will support packaging technical leads across various sterile/non-sterile packaging related initiatives. Responsibilities will include project management as well as test sample builds, testing execution, data collection and data interpretation in support of feasibility and validation level activities. This is a vital role that will require critical thinking, multi-tasking and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on cutting-edge next generation medical devices. Essential Duties and
Ability to support engineering assembly builds for feasibility and validation testing. Maintains and write Equipment Binders (EB), Maintain appropriate documents PM/CM documents, Pass-downs, Track-it work orders and performs IQ/OQ's, equipment validations. Able to use Hand and Power tools, Multimeters, Amp Meters, Manufacture test equipment, Calipers. Ability to perform equipment activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer. Activities including assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations. Regularly maintain component inventory management onsite and offsite storage areas. Ability to work with Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook. Perform all assigned task with appropriate safety requirements. This position assumes and performs other duties as assigned. Required
Working knowledge of equipment implementation and change control within regulated industry environment. Working knowledge of testing equipment operation, data gathering and documentation. Working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook. Detail oriented and able to follow guidance and training. Operating and maintaining GLP procedures and best practices. Strong collaboration and communication with cross functional team members. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schematic, blueprint, equipment drawing, or schedule form. Preferred
Medical device packaging engineering testing experience per ISO and ASTM standards. Sterile Barrier system and Distribution simulation testing equipment experience will be a plus. Statistical software like Minitab or JMP experience will be a plus. Functional Description Develops new packaging or containers to meet established requirements and maintains oversight and quality of existing packages/containers for all product groups. Defines package requirements for product groups and customer requirements. Develops recommendations according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, taking into consideration the need for resistance to external variables. May be responsible for coordination of activities and logistics at secondary contract packaging and labeling sites. Responsibilities may include documentation management and an understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMPs). Uses appropriate tools and performs integrity analysis of packaging. Functional/Business Knowledge Possesses a high level of theoretical knowledge. Ability to deliver technical ideas that have an impact on the objectives. Understands organizational and functional processes and policies aligned to the technical and business goals. Scope Demonstrates technical proficiency. Workplace Type The Workplace Type for this role is Assigned Desk. Based on the nature of your role you will have an assigned desk or office located at a Dexcom site and should plan to be onsite approximately 3-5 days per week.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
