About the Position

Dexis is seeking an experienced Gender and Social Inclusion and Youth Lead to help support USAID’s Northern Economic and Livelihoods for Youth (NELY) activity based in Benin. This is a five-year project aimed at improving purchasing powers, developing self-sufficiency, and improving inclusion in the modern economic marketplace for men and women vulnerable to recruitment by violent extremist groups.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
• Provide GESI and youth-specific technical guidance related to the project’s objectives to the Chief of Party (COP), senior leadership, and other key technical staff.  
• Support the COP to oversee the integration of GESI and youth activities into the project work plan, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) plan, and learning agenda, and review activities to be responsive to GESI and youth issues identified during upfront analysis and during implementation.  
• Provide technical guidance across the... various components of the project to ensure GESI and youth integration in project interventions and trainings.  
• Work with the MEL Manager to develop, report, and monitor GESI- and youth-related indicators and disaggregate data appropriately to analyze results within each project component.  
• In collaboration with a headquarters-based Gender/GESI Specialist (if needed), mentor and train project staff, partners, and stakeholders, on GESI integration and mainstreaming issues, tools, policies, and practices as relate to project objectives.  
• Support technical project staff to ensure that training materials and participant engagement are gender-, youth-, and social inclusion-sensitive.  
• Provide overarching GESI and youth technical support to project stakeholders and implementing partners, including advising and supporting partners to integrate GESI and youth considerations into activities.  
• Review and provide technical feedback on project deliverables to ensure quality, full compliance, and progress toward achieving GESI and youth integration in the project.  
• Develop tools, frameworks, and resources to enable better GESI and youth integration in the project.  
• Identify successful practices in the project that can be showcased in publications, communication materials, and conferences.  
• Prepare communications materials that highlight the project’s GESI and youth programming, successes, and lessons learned. 
• Contribute to the design and technical oversight of integration of youth in entrepreneurship and vocational training programs.
• Adapt models and tools for local development (with a focus on local youth organizations).
• Provide assistance in conducting outreach and relationship building with stakeholders, youth networks, media outlets, and beneficiaries;
• Design and lead interventions to build youth capacity in entrepreneurship and vocational training.

Qualifications
• Seven (7) years of professional experience 
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience designing, managing, and implementing activities to promote gender equality and social inclusion.  
• Strong understanding of how to address gender, youth, and social inclusion dynamics in conflict settings and how these factors intersect with conflict sensitivity.   
• Experience ensuring GESI and youth integration in project design, implementation and M&E required.  
• Experience developing and delivering GESI- and youth-themed/appropriate content in training and education materials as well as assessments, training, and organizational capacity-building preferred.  
• Ability to navigate politically sensitive subjects and maintain constructive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.  
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and transmit his/her/their vision to partners and colleagues.  
• Experience with previous donor projects required, USAID experience preferred.  
• Experience living and working in complex, conflict-affected environments, preferably in Benin.  
• Ability to work under deadline pressure with diverse teams. 
• Fluent in French. Proficiency in English (preferred but not required).
