Hertz Croatia is seeking for a Chief Accountant to join its strong team!

Job Description:
• Lead the accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets registry, billing, general ledger and taxes.
• Preparation of Financial Statements under IFRS for Public disclosure on a Quarterly Basis.
• Preparation of Management Reporting monthly and coordination of the closing process in line with company deadlines.
• Preparation and submission of the statutory annual accounts.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts in... coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Preparation & Submission of monthly VAT returns.
• Preparation and Submission of Annual Tax Returns as well as interaction with tax authorities. Review, control and validate tax declarations as per country laws and regulations and ensure Legal and Tax Compliance.
• Ensure that the company abides with the set of laws implemented by the state related to taxes and handing financial transactions.
• Payroll calculation.
• Liaise regularly with the internal stakeholders on all financial reporting activities and accounting inquiries.
• Work with external and internal auditors and assist with the required information and documentation as appropriate.
• Review, input and control daily entries and transactions on the system and ensure all supporting documents are properly classified.
• Monitoring financial position, financial performance and cash flows of the company.
• Assess current practices and procedures and conduct periodic evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities and system optimization.
• Prepare and reconcile the accounts payables and receivables and communicate with clients and suppliers.
• Coordinate leasing contracts with banks.
• Manage accounting transactions, ensure timely bank payments.
• Coaches accounting staff and helps to resolve problems.
• Manage a team of 3 accountants (2 senior & 1 junior).
• Delegating and organizing tasks.

• University degree in Finance and Accounting.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting. Experience in RAC industry is an advantage.
• Certified Accountant License.
• In-depth knowledge of Accounting procedures.
• Extensive knowledge about Croatian accounting related acts (HSFI).
• Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP, tax laws and local regulations.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent communication in English.
