Grant Proposal Development:
Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
Collaborate with program managers and other staff to gather information necessary for grant proposals.
Write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact.
Ensure that grant proposals are submitted on time and meet all requirements and guidelines specified by the funding organization.
Grant Management:
Develop and maintain a grant tracking system to monitor the status of grant applications, awards, and reporting requirements.
Coordinate with finance and program staff to ensure that grant funds are allocated appropriately and used in accordance with grant agreements.
Prepare and submit grant reports and updates to funders as required.
Monitor compliance with grant terms and conditions and ensure timely submission of all required documentation.
Grant Reporting and Assistance:
Assist program staff in collecting and organizing data for grant reports, including program outcomes, financial expenditures, and other relevant metrics.
Ensure that grant reports are completed accurately and submitted on time, in compliance with funder requirements.
Work closely with program staff to identify and address any challenges or issues related to grant reporting, including data collection and analysis.
Grant Startup:
Provide support to program staff in the initial stages of grant implementation, including setting up project budgets/client setups, timelines, and reporting structures.
Assist with the development of grant-specific work plans, including admin plans, environmental reviews, identifying key deliverables and milestones.
Coordinate with program and finance staff to ensure that all necessary administrative processes are in place for grant startup, such as hiring staff, purchasing equipment, and establishing reporting procedures.
Relationship Building:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential funders along with countywide municipalities.
Attend meetings, conferences, and networking events to represent the organization and identify new funding opportunities with the Executive Director as needed.
Communicate regularly with funders to provide updates on the organization's activities and impact.
Administrative Support:
Assist with other administrative tasks related to fundraising, such as donor communications, database management, and event planning.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant-related activities and communications.
Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to diversify revenue streams and achieve fundraising goals.
Training Opportunities:
Participate in relevant training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance grant writing and management skills.
Stay updated on best practices in grant writing, fundraising strategies, and nonprofit management through professional development opportunities.
Share knowledge and insights gained from training sessions with colleagues to improve overall grant acquisition and management processes.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field).
A Master's degree is preferred but not required.
Proven experience in grant writing and grant management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and compelling grant proposals and reports.
Strong research skills and the ability to identify funding opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.
Highly organized with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including funders, staff, and board members.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with grant management software is desirable.
