Job Description

Position Summary...

The Quality Manager leads and oversees all quality-related activities at our manufacturing plant, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. This role is instrumental in implementing, improving, and maintaining quality procedures and systems, monitoring corrective actions, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager also plays a critical role in supplier development, capability studies, and quality enhancements for current and new products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Coordinate Plant Quality Activities: Maintain day-to-day coordination of plant quality activities in line with QMS procedures and customer requirements.
• Implement and Maintain Quality Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
• Corrective Action Management: Monitor and coordinate the corrective action system to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
• Quality Department Requirements: Aid in the development and implementation of quality department requirements, including process control, inspection and test, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and performance tracking.
• PPAP Submittal and Approval: Manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions and approvals for both suppliers and customers.
• Capability and R&R Studies: Conduct and complete capability studies, Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies, and drive quality improvements for current and new products.
• Recordkeeping: Ensure all required recordkeeping is performed accurately to document and sustain quality control processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in plant continuous improvement activities, fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement and efficiency.
• Supplier Development: Maintain and enhance the supplier development process, ensuring high-quality inputs and performance from suppliers.
• Supplier Improvement Activities: Lead supplier improvement activities, including assessments, evaluations, PPM tracking, and other quality metrics.
• Presentations and Reporting: Develop and deliver presentations to customers, suppliers, and internal teams as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in manufacturing quality management.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient in disciplined problem-solving methodologies and techniques, with 8D experience preferred.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC): Working knowledge of SPC to monitor and control manufacturing processes.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T): Familiarity with GD&T principles.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in SharePoint being a plus.
• Certification Management: Experience in leading and managing IATF, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certification and compliance.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• CAD Software: Experience with CATIA V5, Pro/E, AutoCAD, UG, or related CAD software is preferred.
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM): CMM experience is preferred, with a working knowledge of alignment and datum scheme development.
• Welding: Welding experience is preferred.
• Project Management: Proven project management skills and experience in customer interaction.
• Leadership: Demonstrated departmental leadership and management experience.
