Accountable for the definition and execution of key operational tasks for delivery and recovery, supporting day to day operation support and changes in the Group’s operational infrastructure service.

Role Profile

The Operational Support Analyst is primarily responsible for the early morning verification from London Time and to escalate any issues following the appropriate escalation procedures. Following market start times, the analyst will be part of one of the teams based in Colombo to support the key market, BAU activities across Market Operations. Team description

The team works primarily to cover London business hours while being based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is responsible for managing checks for a range of markets, admissions, client activities, technical processes, systems, and front ends ahead of the markets start time.

The Operational Support Change team is part of the overall Capital Markets Operations... organisational structure.

Department Description

Capital Markets Operations covers Market Operations Services, Business Architecture and Client Technology Services.

The Market Operations Services team provide the centralised function for the maintenance of key trading services and reference data databases spanning the LSE, Turquoise, and FX venues.

The department acts as a first point of contact for customers (both issuers and member firms) requiring immediate or planned actions, assessing suitability for admission of issuers and impacts of corporate actions on reference data.

It coordinates the production and dissemination of communications to customers and key organisations including EUI, CCPs, UKLA and FTSE. The area manages close operational relationships internally and externally.

1.0 K ey Responsibilities
Use correct processes/procedures, tools, RACIs, SLAs and escalation model, perform proactive customer alert management and event logging in ITSM tool to help ensure appropriate levels of service quality are consistently and predictably delivered. To manage Technical Incidents and Functional queries for external and internal customers including application and network troubleshooting managing events through to conclusion maintaining customer communication. To ensure any technical incidents or requests that are at risk of breaching a KPI or that are otherwise service impacting (Priority level 1/2) are escalated in a timely manner. Feed into Continuous Service Improvement initiative to help with process, automation, tooling or other improvements and new project implementation. To log into all key front-end tools needed for internal users and external facing customers. To perform number of reference data checks ahead of market start including first day of trading of new companies To monitor market transition and sessions ahead of the London market start time. To check and identify any issues with CCP connectivity. Track and maintain any changes to the existing process, scope, and BAU activities. Meet individual / team KPI to add value to the business and individual growth.

3.0 Candidate Profile / Key Skills
Relevant industry experience and recent experience in a similar role Technical skills - FIX Protocol knowledge, SQL, Networking, Wireshark, SFTP, Electronic Trading systems and Market Data familiarity, ITSM Tools, Excel. Recent experience in a similar technical service role supporting financial systems. Financial Industry experience Must be a confident team player with good interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude. Must be a quality driven individual with greater attention to detail skill to capture issue in critical applications. Must have an interest to use analytical skills and add value for the work. Worked in professional and application support environments where detailed processes must be followed. Proven customer service skills & Proven system support skills Accurate with attention to detail Must be able to work to deadlines and under pressure. Knowledge of equities and debt instructions and associated corporate events would be advantageous. Proficient in MS Office products Ability to learn quickly. Proficiency in SQL
